Events Coordinator
We are looking for a passionate Events Coordinator to find, curate, and manage culinary events for Wakowapi. Salary: KES 10,000 - 20,000 per month.
About The Role
As an Events Coordinator at Wakowapi, you will be the driving force behind our community events and culinary experiences. You will scout for exciting food events across Kenya, build relationships with event organizers and venues, and ensure our users always have access to the best culinary happenings. This part-time role is perfect for someone with a passion for food culture, strong organizational skills, and excellent networking abilities. You will work flexible hours while making a real impact on Kenya's food community.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify culinary events, food festivals, and cooking workshops across Kenya
- Build and maintain relationships with event organizers, restaurants, and venues
- Coordinate event listings and ensure accurate, up-to-date information on the platform
- Negotiate partnerships and collaborations with event hosts
- Create engaging event descriptions and promotional content
- Monitor event attendance and gather feedback from users
- Propose and help organize Wakowapi-branded community events
- Track event trends and provide insights to improve our offerings
Requirements
- Strong passion for food, cooking, and culinary culture
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Familiarity with the Nairobi food and events scene
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Swahili
- Basic computer skills and comfort with online platforms
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Available for 15-20 hours per week
Nice To Have
- Experience in event planning or coordination
- Background in hospitality, food service, or culinary arts
- Existing network of contacts in the food industry
- Social media savvy with content creation skills
- Experience with community management
